Launch Coach Termonology

Launch

Satellite

To start or set in motion the desired trajectory for a student, both in school and into adulthood.

Satellite

Satellite

The launch coach, who is placed in orbit around the client in order to collect evidence, communicate their findings, and demystify the information as mission control for both the student and the family.

Trajectory

The desired path followed by a student which will be impacted by foreseen and unforeseen forces that will attempt to move them off course.

Inertia

The premise of a body at rest will stay at rest, unless there is an external force to facilitate momentum, so a launch coach must provide the proper boost.

Gravity

The weight that a student will feel going through childhood and life, and many times is ultimately responsible for the incorrect trajectory that causes the need for a course correction.  This can include issues such as anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, or any number of other biochemical, cognitive, neurological, or genetic factors.

Black Hole

Personal problems that lead to inertia, stagnation, and regression that prevent a client from escaping the gravity of their emotions and struggles.   A launch coach effectively helps halt the pull of gravity, create a course correction, and reestablish the proper trajectory.

Phase

A temporary stage in a person's psychological development, especially a period of temporary unhappiness, or a particular stage of childhood, that a launch coach provides the proper guidance to navigate through.

Course Correction

When a student gets off of their trajectory, or the desired path, the steps that must be taken to put them back on the correct trajectory.

Orbit

Light Years

The self-sustaining consistent approach a student should maintain around handling their responsibilities in school and life, in order to stay in balance.

Light Years

Shooting Star

Light Years

The long distance or great amount of growth that a child travels under the support of a launch coach, that encompasses the goals of the student and family.

Magnitude

Shooting Star

Shooting Star

The degree of brightness of a star, as well as a way to see the growth of a client, with each new skill added pointed out as “more visible to the naked eye” (or able to be recognized by others).

Shooting Star

Shooting Star

Shooting Star

The ultimate goal of a launch coach… taking a falling star and turning it around into one that “shoots for the skies” and reaches or exceeds their desired goals!
